"Drain King Plumbing is hands down one of the best companies I’ve ever worked with. A friend recommended the owner, Steven, after I was told I needed to replace the cast-iron pipes in my Dania Beach home—and I’m extremely glad I listened.  From the very first text, Steven was responsive, honest, and professional. Even though I already had a sewer camera inspection from another company, he insisted on doing his own instead of quoting off someone else’s work, which really showed integrity. Casey handled the inspections and documentation, Brandon and Casey installed the new piping flawlessly, and Anthony did an excellent job with the excavation—even with high tide and tough ground conditions. Stephanie made the permitting process smooth and stress-free.  The workmanship and materials were top-notch, communication was clear throughout, and everything was documented with before-and-after photos and videos. They even restored my landscaping when the job was finished.  Best of all, they provided a lifetime warranty on both the work and the materials, which says everything about the pride they take in their work.  If you need plumbing work—especially cast-iron pipe replacement—do yourself a favor and call Drain King Plumbing. These guys truly live up to their name."

"Drain King Plumbing is truly the real deal and absolutely deserves every one of their five-star reviews. We had a serious sewer emergency very early in the morning at our home when sewage backed up through our shower and toilet. I searched on Google for an emergency sewer and drain plumber near me, and Drain King Plumbing came up first.  Anthony arrived quickly, cleared the line to stop the backup, and performed a camera inspection that showed our underground cast-iron pipes were broken and failing. He explained everything clearly and honestly. One of our biggest concerns came from friends and family who had similar issues — they told us their floors were cut open and that they had to move out for months. We also had other companies talk about lining the pipe as a temporary fix.  Drain King Plumbing took a completely different approach. Instead of cutting floors or using a liner as a band-aid, they tunneled underneath the home and fully replaced the broken cast-iron pipes. They worked around our schedule and completed the pipe replacement while we were at work. We never had to move out, never had to stop using our plumbing, and it honestly felt like just another normal day.  From there, the entire team moved fast and worked efficiently. Anthony handled the excavation crew, while Casey and Carlos completed the plumbing work and replaced the old cast-iron pipes with new PVC. Steven, the owner, was on top of everything from start to finish and made sure nothing was delayed. He immediately had Stephanie, the office manager, help us with the permit process, and the permit was approved the same day.  The pricing was fair and reasonable, communication was excellent, and all inspections passed. This team works together incredibly well and delivers exactly what they promise. If you’re dealing with an emergency sewer issue or cast-iron pipe replacement, Drain King Plumbing is a true five-star company and I would recommend them without hesitation."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TRUE EMERGENCY SAVED BY DRAIN KING PLUMBING!  One night, almost at midnight, I was running the dishwasher and doing laundry while relaxing on the couch when suddenly I saw water coming into my living room. My toilet was overflowing, and food-filled water was coming up through my bathtub. I had a real emergency on my hands‼️  I called several well-known plumbing companies, but none could come out until the morning. Desperate, I searched Google and found Drain King Plumbing—all 5-star reviews (with just one 4-star, and even that review was great). I figured they had to know drains.  When I called, the owner, Steven, answered the phone. I was a complete mess and having an anxiety attack. Steven was incredibly kind, calm, and reassuring. He literally talked me through calming down, telling me to take deep breaths and assuring me everything would be okay. That alone meant so much to me.  Once I calmed down, Steven said, “I’m sending someone out tonight. They’ll be there within the hour.” Minutes later, his technician Anthony called and told me he was only about 10 minutes away and to relax—he’d take care of it.  Anthony arrived and quickly determined my main sewer line was clogged. Since I didn’t have a cleanout, he accessed the line from the roof. Within minutes, things started draining—but when he pulled his cable back, it had sand on it. He immediately recommended a camera inspection and didn’t wait or upsell—he did it right then and there.  The camera revealed the real issue: broken, rotted cast-iron pipe under my bathroom.  The very next morning, Steven emailed me the quote and permit application. The price was fair and reasonable, so I approved it and paid the deposit. That same morning, Stephanie came out, handled all the paperwork, and even notarized everything on the spot—so professional and helpful.  Steven then sent out his crew. Brandon and Carlos tunneled under my home (about 10 feet) and confirmed the cast iron was completely rotted. Casey, the plumber, arrived the same day and replaced:  The cast-iron pipe under my bathroom The toilet and tub lines The vertical pipe going up the wall About 10 feet of sewer pipe heading toward the street  All of this was done in one single day. They secured everything, barricaded the area, and covered the openings with plywood.  The next day, the Town of Davie plumbing inspector crawled under my house, inspected the work, and said it looked great—he even pointed out that they used stainless steel hangers, which impressed him. After inspection approval, Brandon and Carlos returned and backfilled everything that same day.  Then an engineer came out, tested the backfill, and approved it. Finally, the city inspector returned and signed off on the engineer’s report.  From start to finish, this process was handled with professionalism, care, and honesty. It’s hard to trust people these days, but I trusted this team completely:  Steven, Stephanie, Anthony, Casey, Brandon, and Carlos.  To top it all off, they provided a LIFETIME WARRANTY on workmanship AND materials. They are Google Guaranteed and A+ rated with the BBB.  If you ever experience a sewer emergency like I did (and I hope you don’t), do yourself a huge favor and call Drain King Plumbing. Knowing my sewer system is solid now gives me total peace of mind.  Thank you, Drain King Plumbing—you truly saved me! 🙏🚿"

Frequently Asked Questions about Cast Iron Pipe Replacement in Oakland Park

How do I know if my home has cast iron sewer or drain pipes?
Homes built before the mid-1970s commonly used cast iron for sewer and drain lines. Signs you likely have cast iron include persistent sewer odors, recurring clogs, slow drainage with gurgling sounds, unexplained damp spots or warped flooring, and increased pest activity (roaches or rodents). A camera inspection performed by a professional can confirm pipe material and condition.
What causes cast iron pipes to fail and why is it dangerous?
Cast iron pipes deteriorate from the inside out through a process called channeling, where water and waste corrode the pipe bottom over decades. This leads to holes, collapses, and sewage leakage into the soil under your home. Consequences include soil erosion, foundation settling or slab cracks, health hazards from sewage, and pest infestations.
What replacement options are available for failing cast iron pipes?
The typical modern replacement is PVC sewer and drain piping, which is durable and resistant to the internal corrosion that plagues cast iron. For long-term results, Drain King Plumbing recommends full replacement of failing cast iron systems because patch-style trenchless methods can act like a temporary bandage on deeper pipe failure. Full replacement solves root-cause deterioration and can improve long-term property value.
How long does a cast iron pipe replacement take and will I have to leave my home?
Duration depends on the scope - replacing a small section can be completed in a day, while full under-slab or whole-house replacements may take multiple days. Drain King Plumbing has completed replacements with homeowners remaining in the home; they assess access and plan work to minimize disruption. Your technician will give a timeline after inspection.
How much does cast iron pipe replacement cost?
Costs vary widely based on project size, access, pipe location (in-ground vs. under-slab), need for tunneling or excavation, ground conditions, and required permits. Because of these variables, Drain King Plumbing provides upfront quotes after a camera inspection and information available at the time. Contact us for a quote tailored to your property.
Will replacing cast iron pipes damage my yard or foundation?
Our team makes an effort to plan ahead and work hard to maintain your existing landscaping. Under-slab work is done carefully to protect the foundation; any disturbed areas are backfilled and restored. We do our best to make the extra effort to clean the job site after completion, something that is not typically done in this industry and we are happy to do this for our customers.
Do you offer camera inspections and how do they help?
Yes. Video camera inspections let technicians see inside sewer and drain lines to identify pipe material, location and extent of damage (channeling, breaks, root intrusion, blockages). This diagnostic step produces an accurate scope of work and price estimate and helps avoid unnecessary excavation.
